A solid dwelling well-built and offered at a fair price
– that's our company philosophy and promise to you.
Workmanship we stand behind – in the service of livable
space.
The business of real estate – whether it be large
commercial spaces or quaint "empty nester" cottages;
large-tract developments or small rental homes – is far
too complicated for amateurs. To do it right takes
talent, training, experience and integrity.
At Wise Properties, we have nearly 100 years of
aggregate experience in all areas of this multifaceted
industry. It's how we bring all our various
undertakings, large and small, to completion – on time
and on budget.
Henry A. "Sandy" Wise, IV, the founder and CEO of Wise
Properties, graduated from the University of Alabama in
1992 with a degree in Real Estate Finance. With a family
in the business since 1970, Sandy has a strong
background in the industry. The family's flagship
business, Allied Realty of Charlottesville, Virginia,
managed shopping malls, strip malls, warehouses and
apartments.
It was that background that motivated Sandy to found his
own real-estate business here on the Eastern Shore in
1998. Though he still manages some properties in Eufaula
and Dothan, AL, the bulk of Wise Properties are in
Daphne, Fairhope, and Orange Beach now.
Sandy holds general contractor licenses in Alabama,
Mississippi and Tennessee. He founded Wise Construction
in 2000 and built many of his rental homes himself. As
he'll tell you, that way he could be sure they were done
right.
He began his custom home trade with the Southern Living
magazine Custom Home program. Initially, he built
straight from the magazine with a few custom touches.
Some of the floor plans he adapted were the Coastal
Cottage, the Inlet Retreat, the Whitefish Retreat, and
the 2005 Cottage of the Year.
Later, all of these homes – as well as numerous others –
were true custom designs that brought into play a myriad
of factors like owners' personal preference, lot
features, and local codes.
He learned the Commercial Buildings design and
construction industry from an Atlanta associate who had
perfected an expandable warehouse space that featured
large showrooms out front. This modular building style
is highly versatile and can be built out to accommodate
virtually any tenant – from light manufacturing to
retail sales. You can see this innovative design
paradigm in Wise Properties Warehouse Row on Highway
181. We invite you to take a closer look.
